Cynthia Benoist is a French anthropologist and development professional with over 15 years of experience in GESI, anti-corruption, taxation, and justice sector reform. She has provided technical assistance and capacity-building to state authorities and civil society on gender equity, governance, and conflict stabilization in Guatemala, the DR Congo, Mali, Mozambique, and the Central African Republic. Skilled in GESI-sensitive pedagogical approaches, she has produced technical tools, guides, and reports related to GESI, taxpayer education, anti-corruption, and access to justice. She has built the capacity of human rights defenders, civil society, indigenous groups, and public and private sector actors through social accountability mechanisms. From 2020 to 2022, she designed materials on investigating and prosecuting corruption in Mali and published a guide on anti-money laundering and a Gender Policy. She also led an anti-corruption intervention in the DR Congo from 2016 to 2018 and has been supporting the Mozambican Tax Authority since 2021 to strengthen taxpayer education and revenue mobilization.
