Willy Nsangu

Willy Nsangu has over 20 years of experience in operations, field research and monitoring & evaluation activities for international development projects in the DRC. He has contributed to multiple studies, including leading field operations, carrying-out key informant interviews, supervising randomized population surveys and conducting focus groups in resource-poor settings. He recently participated in a 2021 FCDO-funded review of peacekeeping operations on protection and humanitarian needs in eastern DRC. He has led field research on an 2020 DFID-funded operational review of corruption practices in the humanitarian aid sector in the DRC; as well as, a quantitative study on corruption practices, including tax diaries by private sector actors in Goma in 2018. He supervised data collection for a 2012 study in Bukavu and Kinshasa on peacebuilding, security sector reform and transitional justice issues, which included a randomised population survey. Having led field operations and supported logistics, procurement and financial practices for many aid organisations, Mr Nsangu is deeply familiar with humanitarian and protection dynamics.
