Private Sector Development through Anti-corruption in the DR Congo

Glasshouse, working with PwC UK and supported by FCDO, spearheaded anti-corruption reforms and Women’s Economic Empowerment (WEE) in the DR Congo under the Essor programme, affecting over 10,000 entrepreneurs.

Our Impact

Using data from our “Cost of corruption Diagnostic”, we launched a fiscal awareness campaign to reform the business environment in the cities of Goma and Lubumbashi. In Goma, the campaign was launched by the Governor, directly targeting over 3700 MSMEs and training over 500 public agents. Reforms in Lubumbashi were adopted by the Provincial Ministry of Finance.

We also implemented a transformative WEE campaign in partnership with local organisations, empowering over 500 female entrepreneurs and male champions of change.
